Neste final de semana, o Campeonato Europeu FIA de Fórmula 3 (FIA Formula 3 European Championship) vai dar inicio à temporada 2013, estreando no tradicional e mítico circuito GP de 5,793 km em Monza. Na pista estarão 30 concorrentes, entre eles duas garotas, competindo em umas das series de corridas para jovens talentos mais fortes do mundo. E todos os pilotos têm o mesmo objetivo: Eles querem seguir os passos de ex-pilotos famosos da Fórmula 3, como Lewis Hamilton ou Sebastian Vettel, e um dia também lutar por vitórias e títulos na Fórmula 1.
Os talentosos jovens pilotos no grid do FIA Formula 3 European Championship puderam se preparar para a nova temporada em três dias de testes oficiais de pré-temporada: dois no Circuito da Catalunha em Barcelona um no Royal Monza Park. William Buller (ThreeBond com a T-Sport) provou ser o mais rápido em dois dos três dias de testes, com seu monoposto impulsionado com o motor niponico ThreeBond-Nissan – que foi utilizado pelo brasileiro Fabio Carbone no Japones de F3 -. O piloto que definii o tempo de volta mais rápido no terceiro dia foi o protegido da Ferrari Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam). Assim como Buller, Marciello também está confiante em relação à nova temporada.
Além de Buller e Marciello, o grid conta com vários pilotos experientes na Fórmula 3 que também tem como objetivo conquistar o título do Campeonato Europeu e a vaga no teste da Ferrari com um Fórmula 1: Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport), que terminou em quarto lugar o Fórmula 3 Euro Series de 2012, optou por fazer mais uma temporada na Fórmula 3 e o mesmo se aplica ao objetivo de Félix Serrallés (Fortec Motorsports) e de Lynn Alex (Fortec Motorsports), que ficaram, respectivamente, em terceiro e quarto, no ano passado, no Britânico de Fórmula 3 (British Formula 3 International Series). Ao mesmo tempo, Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsport), Vice-Campeão e melhor estreante do Euro Series na temporada 2012, vai fazer em Monza seu final de semana de despedida da Fórmula 3. O alemão de 18 anos de idade conseguiu recentemente garantir um cockpit na DTM.
No entanto, a temporada certamente não será um simples passeio no parque para os pilotos mais experientes. Afinal, novatos como Josh Hill, filho do ex-campeão mundial de Fórmula 1 Damon Hill, está determinado a lhes dar muito trabalho. Nos testes oficiais, dois dos estreantes mostraram ter um estilo particularmente impressionante: O italiano Antonio Giovinazzi (Double R Racing) e o britânico Jordan King (Carlin). Ambos já se posicionaram dentro do top-five nas folhas de tempo em pelo menos um dos dias de testes. E as duas belas e velozes jovens do grid, Michela Cerruti (Romeo Ferraris) e Tatiana Calderón (Double R Racing), também vão dar, definitivamente, o seu melhor para manter seu espaço na batalha com seus vários oponentes masculinos.
O palco de abertura da temporada do FIA Formula 3 Championship é Monza, um circuito carregado de muita história e tradição. Graças a suas três retas, o circuito que está localizado não muito distante de Milão e anualmente apresenta o encena o Grand Prix italiano de F1, são garantidas muitos duelos, recheados de batalhas de vácuo e manobras espetaculares nas ultrapassagens. Na Alemanha, a série de televisão n-tv fará a cobertura ao vivo as corridas 2 e 3 (ambas no domingo). Também a Motors TV oferece aos entusiastas do automobilismo a possibilidade de assistir a todas as três corridas ao vivo, pela internet.
O piloto italiano Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) esclareceu o pensamento comum: “Estou feliz com o fato de, finalmente, a temporada estar começando. O dia de testes que fizemos aqui em Monza demonstrou que temos tudo que é preciso para andar na frente em uma pista de alta velocidade. No ano passado fiquei em segundo no Campeonato Europeu, por isso mesmo para mim só há um objetivo em 2013: Quero garantir o título! No entanto, eu não sinto que, por isso, a pressão tenha aumentado. Os três dias de testes não forneceram pistas de quais serão os candidatos mais fortes ao título, já que foram muito pequenas as diferenças dos tempos de volta mais rápida entre a maioria dos pilotos. Acho que vamos ter que esperar as primeiras corridas para poder ter uma avaliação mais clara e mais realista”.

This weekend, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is going to kick off its maiden season at Monza’s tradition-rich 5.793-kilometre GP circuit. With a field of 30 competitors, among them two girl racers, the young-talent series features is one of the strongest race series of the world. And all the drivers have got the same goal: they want to follow the footsteps of famous former Formula 3 drivers, such as Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel, by also making it to the Formula 1 and battle it out for race wins and the World Championship, there.
The gifted young drivers on the FIA Formula 3 European Championship grid could prepare for the new season on a total of three official days of testing: two at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya and one at the Royal Monza Park. William Buller (ThreeBond with T-Sport) proved to be the quickest on two of the three days, with his ThreeBond-Nissan powered single-seater. The driver who set the fastest lap time on the third day was Ferrari protégé Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam). Just as Buller, he also is confident regarding the coming season.
In addition to Buller and Marciello, there are several experienced Formula 3 drivers on the grid who also have set themselves the goal to win the European Championship title on and the Formula 1 test for Ferrari: Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport), who finished fourth in the 2012 Formula 3 Euro Series, opted for contesting another Formula 3 season and the same applies to the likes of Félix Serrallés (Fortec Motorsports) and Alex Lynn (Fortec Motorsports) who came third and fourth respectively in last year’s British Formula 3 International Series. Meanwhile, Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsport), Vice-Champion and best rookie in the 2012 Euro Series season, is going to contest his Formula 3 farewell weekend, at Monza. The 18-year-old German recently succeeded in securing a DTM cockpit.
Nonetheless, the season certainly will not be a walk in the park, for the experienced drivers. After all, rookies such as Josh Hill, the son of former Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill, are determined to give them a hard time. In the official tests, two of the rookies delivered in particularly impressive style: Italian Antonio Giovinazzi (Double R Racing) and Briton Jordan King (Carlin). Both young guns succeeded in securing top-five positions on the time sheets, on one of the days of testing. And the two young women on the grid, Michela Cerruti (Romeo Ferraris) and Tatiana Calderón (Double R Racing), definitely also will give their very best to hold their ground in the battle with their numerous male opponents.
The venue of the FIA Formula 3 Championship season kick-off is Monza, a circuit with loads of history and tradition. Thanks to its three straights, the circuit that is located not far from Monza and annually stages the Italian F1 Grand Prix makes for a lot of slip-stream battles and overtaking manoeuvres. In Germany, the series’ TV partner n-tv covers race 2 and race 3 (both on Sunday) live. And Motors TV even offers the motor-racing enthusiasts the chance of watching all the three races live.
Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam): “I’m happy about the fact that the season finally begins. The day of testing here at Monza demonstrated that we have got what it takes to also battle it out at the front end of the field on a fast track. Last year I finished second in the European Championship ranking and so, there’s only one goal for me, in 2013: I want to secure the title. Nonetheless, I haven’t got the feeling that the pressure has increased. The three days of testing didn’t provide a hint who will be the hottest title contender as the gaps between fastest lap times of the drivers were just too small. I think we will have to wait for the first races to get a clearer and more realistic picture.”

Am kommenden Wochenende startet die FIA Formel-3-Europameisterschaft auf der altehrwürdigen 5,793 Kilometer langen Grand-Prix-Strecke von Monza in ihre erste Saison. Mit einem Starterfeld von 30 Teilnehmern, darunter zwei Damen, präsentiert sich die Nachwuchsschmiede als eine der stärksten Rennserien der Welt. Alle Piloten haben nur ein Ziel: Sie wollen in die Fußstapfen so berühmter Formel-3-Absolventen wie Sebastian Vettel oder Lewis Hamilton treten und eines Tages in der Formel 1 um Siege und Titel kämpfen.
Die talentierten Nachwuchspiloten der FIA Formel-3-Europameisterschaft haben sich an insgesamt drei offiziellen Testtagen auf die neue Saison vorbereitet: Zwei davon fanden auf dem Circuit de Catalunya nahe Barcelona statt, einer im königlichen Park von Monza. William Buller (ThreeBond with T-Sport) sicherte sich mit seinem ThreeBond-Nissan-angetriebenen Boliden gleich zwei Tagesbestzeiten. Ferrari-Protegé Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) stand einmal ganz vorn und geht wie Buller zuversichtlich in die Saison.
Neben Buller und Marciello erheben weitere Formel-3-Routiniers Ansprüche auf den Titel des Europameisters und die Testfahrt im Formel-1-Ferrari: Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport), der die Formel 3 Euro Serie 2012 als Gesamtvierter abschloss, entschied sich ebenso für eine weitere Saison in der Formel 3 wie Félix Serrallés (Fortec Motorsports) und Alex Lynn (Fortec Motorsports), die im vergangenen Jahr die Ränge drei und vier der Britischen Formel-3-Meisterschaft belegt hatten. Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsport), Vize-Champion und bester Rookie der Euro Serie 2012, gibt in Monza seine Abschiedsvorstellung in der Formel 3. Der 18 Jahre alte Deutsche ergatterte jüngst ein DTM-Cockpit.
Ein Spaziergang dürfte die Saison für die ‚erfahrenen Hasen’ dennoch nicht werden, denn Rookies wie Josh Hill, Sohn des Formel-1-Weltmeisters Damon Hill, liegen bereits auf der Lauer. Bei den offiziellen F3 Testfahrten rückten sich vor allem der Italiener Antonio Giovinazzi (Double R Racing) und der Brite Jordan King (Carlin) ins Rampenlicht. Beide Youngsters verbuchten je eine Top-5-Platzierung in der Tageswertung eines Testtages. Auch die beiden Damen, Michela Cerruti (Romeo Ferraris) und Tatiana Calderón (Double R Racing), werden alles geben, um sich im Feld der männlichen Rivalen zu behaupten.
Der Schauplatz des Saisonauftakts der FIA Formel-3-Europameisterschaft ist Monza, eine Rennstrecke mit viel Geschichte. Dank ihrer langen Geraden erlaubt die Piste vor den Toren Mailands, auf der alljährlich der Grand Prix von Italien ausgefahren wird, viele Windschattenduelle und Überholmanöver. In Deutschland überträgt Fernsehpartner n-tv Rennen 2 und Rennen 3 (beide am Sonntag). Bei Motors TV können Motorsportbegeisterte alle drei Rennen live verfolgen.
Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam): „Ich freue mich, dass die Saison nun endlich losgeht. Der Testtag hier in Monza hat gezeigt, dass wir auch auf einer schnellen Strecke vorne mitfahren können. Im vergangenen Jahr war ich Zweiter in der EM-Wertung, also gibt es für mich in diesem Jahr nur ein Ziel: Ich möchte Erster werden. Mehr Druck verspüre ich deshalb aber nicht. Wer der heißeste Anwärter auf den Titel sein wird, kann man nach den Testfahrten noch nicht sagen, dafür waren die Bestzeiten der einzelnen Fahrer zu ausgeglichen. Ich denke, wir müssen die ersten Rennen abwarten, um eine realistische Einschätzung zu bekommen“.
